right side chest pain

Yesterday i had a severe pain on the right side. This put me in a sweat and sick. Thought it was gas and drank a coke with little relief.  Did 2 cups of coffee and got relief. I have had x-ray 3 years ago because of a spot of pain on the right side. I mean the front of my chest right side. I wanted to be pro-active but if nothing shows on x-ray doc. isn't concerned. After yesterday i'm looking.

The X-ray may not be the best test to evaluate the symptoms. While the pain you describe may be in the chest, if your feeding/drinking habits seem to affect it in a large way, the  problem may be in the stomach and not in the chest.
Imaging tests may not be required to make a diagnosis. The dietary intervention you describe may not be the best way to go about the problem. The symptoms generated by one may mask the symptoms of the other. You could consider getting a second opinion. Stay positive.
