Hi,
Scars on the lung usually imply or mean lung fibrosis or areas of the lung that have thickened. This could be - idiopathic - without a cause; due to interstitial lung disease, secondary to old pulmonary tuberculosis, etc. You need to discuss the excat chest radiograph findings with your radiologist and doctor and ask him if a CT scan of the chest is required? Do you have a history of pulmonary tuberculosis or exposure to radiation in the past? What is your occupation - some occupatinal lung diseases can also cause scarring. Do you have any symptoms like breathlessness or chronic cough? Do you have any associated symptoms like joint pains or skin lesions etc as connective tissue diseases like rheumatoid arthritis and systemic sclerosis can also cause pulmonary scarring in a few cases. You will have to discuss this in detail with your physician. Nothing needs to be done if you are asymptomatic but you can still try to find out the cause of these lesions. Goodluck.
