LUNG CANCER EXPERT FORUM
should we be worried?

should we be worried?

my husband recently had a pet scan that showed a low reading in a 9mm nodule in rt lung. pet scan also showed medium reading in and around lynph nodes in rt lung.he has gone from 170pds to 147 pds in last year and 1/2.

they suggested another cat scan in 3 mths. does this sound reasonable? should we push for more test sooner? would the blood test C.E.A be a wise thing to ask for?

just how worried should we be?

thank you.

Hi,
A follow-up PET for surveillance of a lung nodules is usually advised after 3 months.
Any blood marker for lung nodule (even if it is unfortunately lung cancer) is not consistently reliable, thus not routinely advised.
Please discuss options with your treating doctors.
All the best, and God Bless!
