Hi. It is "normalNormal saline flush" to feel some pain around the tumor site during chemotherapy and radiotherapy. The tumor responds to the treatment by becoming inflamed, and this causes the pain. Although it is not a cause for worry, your father needs adequate pain medication, and his doctor should provide him with this. Pain relief should be a standard part of your father's cancer treatment.
