My daughter age 30 years has back pain. On MRI carried out that she has infection and may be TB. Now she has water in her right lung but still she is not having breathing problem. Doctor says it is more quantity but not alarming. Now I request the advise from you. Should she removed water by sucking it through injection. After removal will it come back again or she should take tablets or oral medicines. Can you describe me the medicines . She had 30 days streptomicin injection and plus since 4 months using the TB medicines 4 tablet daily before break fast.

Thanks.
A worried father.

Hi,
Are you sure it was 2006?
Do you remember what the 6 month treatment was? Was it a number of oral medications?
Your case seems to sound more like a tuberculous effusion (water in the lung), especially since TB is endemic in the Philippines.

Pleural thickening is usually die to a reaction either to an infection, an abnormal immune response, or malignancy. IF you did have TB, healing TB tends to scar, and it wouldn’t be surprising to have thickening. There is no known etiologic relationship between TB and lung cancer.
