Rare form of Endomitrosis

My 18 year old daughter was recently diagnosed with having endomiriosis in her lungs..I can really find no answers and she is caughing up blood every month coenciding with her menses..One thing i read says its dangerous..one thing i read says it is just rare..She has starred on lupron.twice a month..but i can find nothing on long term treatment or prognosis..Is she in danger?..i do not like the thought of Lupron long term..Has there ever been an effective treatment that would rid the lung of this and can it spread further..I am confused and need answers..

This is very unusual but not unheard of.  A Chest CT scan has hopefully been done to look for any lesions in the lung.  She should have also had bronchoscopy (a lighted tube exam of the airways) to identify any airway source of bleeding.  There are very few disease that cause bleeding in the lungs like this.  They include endometriosis, lymphangiolieomyomatosis (LAM),Wegener's Granulmatosis, and Goopasture's Syndrome to name the most common.  Blood tests and lung biopsies determine these diseases.  I share your concern regarding Lupron but horomonal therapies are truly best for endometriosis
