paratracheal lymph node

my fiance is having cough for last 2/3 months.he is 29 and non-smoker.x-rays and CT scan showed a lymph node enlarged in the right lung.he had MT that was positive and 10mm in diameter.doctors say,its very marginal nd probably he is not a TB patient.they say,it may be a lymphoma.now,he is gonna go through the biopsy.FNAC/VATS/broncoscopy which one is preferable?is there any risk with these procedures?

if it is a lymphoma, then what's the treatment?is it fully curable?i m very scared abt all these...:(

Since you do not list symptoms such as coughing up blood, fever, or weight loss...I would also agree that it is unlikely that your fiance has TB.  In experienced hands, the technique of choice for Mediastinal lymph node biopsy is clearly Endobronchial Ultrasound with TBNA.  Even for lymphoma, flow cytometry studies can aid with the diagnosis in almost all cases.  Surgery by VATS is usually avoidable and FNA is not indicated as it is no better than Endobronchial Ultrasound and is complicated 30 percent of the time by lung collapse.  The choice of procedure will undoubtedly depend upon what expertise is available in your area.  Biopsy is definitely indicated based on your description.
