ANA antibodies -- please help :(

ANA antibodies -- please help :(

Hi,

I can't stop worrying about my health and future.

For as long as I can remember, I've had positive ANA antibodies (1:160).
A few months ago, for the first time, they tested at 1:320 nucleolar pattern (probably always were nucleolar).

I'm a 30 year old woman.

My symptoms include:

Reynaud's (6 years duration, usually mild)
Puffy hands (5 years duration, comes and goes)
Tendon pain (comes and goes)
Fatigue (comes and goes)
Some weight loss five years but not major and have maintained since then
A few broken blood vessels by nailbeds and on arms

WBC and ESR usually normal. CRP normal.

Everything I've read about ANA in nucleolar pattern seems to say I'm developing Scleroderma. Is this true? Is there any chance things will not be bad for me going forward?

My mom and aunt have mild autoimmune issues (GERD, Reynaud's) but haven't been diagnosed with anything official.

Hello, I am going through a similar diagnosis situation.  I have 1:1280 nucleolar pattern, as well.  However, I have tested positive for several years now, with no scleroderma-related symptoms.  I do have mild gerd, that is probably more due to stress than anything else.  But I do have dry eye issues and have had them for years, and my rheumatologist is more leaning toward a Sjogren's Syndrome diagnosis, though I have not officially been diagnosed with anything.  So, you, too, could be developing Sjogren's rather than scleroderma.  I was told that some people with Sjogren's can have a positive ANA of the nucleolar pattern.  You may also never develop anything fully and the puffy hands may be the worst you get.  That's the thing about all these autoimmune situations, no one can predict the future.  So, try to think positive.  I know from experience that is difficult.  I went through an entire year like I was in a state of panic, reading online about scleroderma and the worst possible outcomes.  Now, though, I try to be grateful for each day and not let it get to it me.  Good luck!
