Do you think this is Lupus?

Do you think this is Lupus?

I feel sick every day of my life. I am a 28 year old female. I have felt this way for years. The symptoms will come about twice a year and stick around for a few months. Help, I feel so sick and in pain.

Some of my symptoms include:

Nausea (all day long, I had a negative blood pregnancy test)
Muscle and bone/ joint pain- everywhere (hands, neck, feet, legs, back) , I cry because I am always in pain
Breast tenderness and soreness (all the time, not just around period )(ultrasound turned up nothing)
Headaches every single day (had a normal MRI years ago)
Pain in lower abdomen and lower back (ruled out UTI, but I do have a complex ovarian cyst) I have regular bowel movements. Pain mostly in RUQ
Burning/ fuzzy feeling behind ribcage (antacids don't help and I had a clear chest xray)
Flushing in face
Extreme tiredness/ sleepiness
General Malaise (I feel like just laying down all the time because I feel so sick)
I need at least 10 hours of sleep a night.
I am not depressed and do not have anxiety.

My blood/ urine test results include:
High protein in urine but no infection
Low platelet count (115)
WBC low (3.3)
Positive ANA with nucleio pattern 1:40 titer
Normal Sed Rate
Blood pressure consistantly normal
Normal neuro exam

Please help me. Does anyone have any idea?

To start off with, you have a very low ANA.  Elevated levels of ANA can follow major and minor illnesses  The speckled pattern can indicate SLE or Scleroderma. A follow up with a snRNP test would be valuable.  I suggest that you spend time in the sun prior to your repeat of an ANA.  If you have lupus, it will ause the ANA to jump to a level that the drs. can't ignore.  If you don't have lupus, it won't affect the results.

I also have protein in my urine.  Don't know what to think of that.  Maybe an indicator of kidney function.

Low platlet level of coarse can indicate an immune system failure, drug reactions, b12 or folic acid deficiency

Low WBC - occurs in viral infections.

Could you describe the "flushing in your face'?  Do you feel cold or hot most of the time?

Here are a few illnesses that have simular symptoms:

Lymes:
fever, headache, chills, severe muscle pain, fatigue, nausea, vomiting, rash, cough, lymphadenopathy (?), arthralgia (?), stiff neck, erythema migrains (?), leukopenia (low WBC), thrombocytopenia (low platelet ?),elevated AST, elevated ALT & anemia

Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever is another possiblity:
all of the above except no stiff neck, no erythema migrains, and no leukopenia.
(I ended up testing possitive to RMSF)  I was a very sick puppy last year.  Fibro, lupus and RMSF

CFID:
fatigue, headache, short-term memory loss, muscle pain, difficulty concentrating, joint pain, depression, abdominal pain, lymph node pain, sore throat, lack of restful sleep, muscle weakness, bitter or metallic taste, balance disturbance, diarrhea, constipation, bloating, panic attacks, eye pain, scratchiness in eyes, blurring of vision, double vision, sensitivity to bright lights, numbness or tingling in extremities, fainting spells, light headedness, dizziness, clumsiness, insomnia, fever or sensation of fever, chills, night sweats, weight gain, allergies, chemical sensitivities, palpitations, shortness of breath, flushing rash of the face and cheeks, swelling of the extremities or eyelids, burning on urination & hair loss.
reported to follow a # of infections like Epstein Barr, Mono, hep C, lyme, etc.

Fibromyalgia:
muscle pain, morning stiffness, insomnia, musculoskeletal pain, joint pain w/o swelling, fatigue, tingling, pricking or numbness, skin tenderness, light headedness (dizziness), fluid retention, stress or anxiety, poor memory, vocabulary problems, tender points, irritable bowel, chronic headaches, jaw pain, painful menstration, restless leg syndrome

Lupus:
fatigue, hair falling out, sores in mouth and or nose, sores in head or even on your face and other parts of your body, joint pain (sometimes w/ swelling), Raynauds (in some), cold intollerance, occasional hot flashes, muscle aches, nausea, diarrehea, severe headaches, tachycardia, weakness, heavy feeling on chest, abdomen swells, elevated ANA, rash on face. (to name a few)

PLEASE NOTE THAT YOUR ANA CAN BE LOW OF EVEN NEGATIVE AND IT DOESN'T NECESSARILY MEAN YOU DON'T HAVE LUPUS.

Another possiblity is Celiac Disease.  This is a glutten intollerance and is sometimes associated with an autoimmune disease.  Look up the symptoms to this as I'm not real familiar to this illness other than it can cause joint pain and diarrehea.

Here is a web site that has the 11 criteria for lupus.  A person must have at least 4 of the 11 in order to get a dx of lupus.

hope this helps.
God bless you...praying for you
