HCG AND LUPUS

I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF GETTING HCG INJECTIONS FOR WEIGHT LOSS WILL NEGATIVELY AFFECT MY LUPUS.  MY DOCTOR IS NOT FAMILIAR ENOUGH WITH HCG.

it's illegal

who knows what you'll be injecting since it's probably not HCG

injecting some unknown stuff into yourself is a bad idea since it could negatively affect your lupus.

Oh My Gosh! You want to know what?!?!? Of course it's going to negatively affect you. Why see a doctor that doesn't know about both? Why not control your weight by removing carbs and increasing your physical activity? With lupus, exercise while you can, so that you have reserves when you're in a flare. But with lupus, absolutely everything you put into your body can effect you. Everything harsh, abrasive, or disruptive/altering to your system/not normal to your body, will adversely effect your lupus. Personally, I would not take that type of a chance... not even once.
Do it like the rest of us...    with proper diet and exercise.

thanks!
I was going to try HCG starting tomorrow. My Neurologist said he didn't know anything about the HCG diet, but go ahead and try it, it won't hurt you! That answer did not inspire  confidence.
Thanks for the reminder that everything you put in your body effects you and can adversely effect lupus.

Yes, I have tried the diet and I have lupus. I was very happy with it. My doctor gave me the drops (for under my tongue) and I lost 20 lbs in 45 days. Since I have diabetes and high cholesterol along with lupus, he said I was a good candidate. We had weekly meetings (more like a support group) with a medical doctor and a psychologist which were very helpful. I was told that the drops would take away my aches from lupus, and that turned out to be correct - I haven't felt that good in a very long time. The swelling I have daily also just went away. The diet got old fast, but the weight was coming off easily so it was easy to stay with. My rheumatologist was also ok with this diet and in awe at how good I felt when I saw her. The joint aches and pains did return, however, when I stopped the diet, and my swelling is back, but minimal. However, I no longer have trouble with my blood sugar which was the main reason I started the diet. I still do take a cholesterol lowering med. I hope this helps you decide what you want to do.

Interesting conversation :)

I'm not sure this bit of info would be helpful to you, but I take a small enteric coated garlic pill daily that lowers my cholesterol to a bragging level.

Ahhh, now that IS interesting to me. I'll have to try that. I just did blood work last week, so this is a good time to experiment. Is there a dosage? Any smell?

Thanks for the input.
