Hair Loss & Lupus

Anyone out there losing hair? I am a female with miserable aching legs, sweats, fatique, Fibromyalgia, Arthritis & am concerned with this recent hair loss & Lupus? I have also broken out with big welts (hives) after being out in the sun.... any insight?

You are not alone. Hair loss can be part of autoimmune diseases including lupus. My hair seems to come a little more lately although not enough to totally scare me yet. It could also be a side effect of medication. Do you mind sharing what you are on? Have you had a dx of Lupus. Also, if you're talking about painful legs let me tell you I am right there with you. I will wake from a deep sleep with leg pain. I am 46 yrs. old and have been ill since last July, finally started to get into seeing the right doctors at the end of last year and in March was told Lupus. Now last week my new Rheumy (whom I love - took a long time to find her though) told me she thinks I have multiple autoimmune and I am waiting on blood work to come back now. I just don't understand why my legs hurt so bad. I have had episodes of leg pain since I was a child so it makes me wonder how long things have been going on in my body. The fatigue is also overwhelming. I am running out of room here. Write back if you'd like. Joni

Hi, i'm new to this forum. And i was just scrolling down and i came to your post. I'm a 29 year old female and been diagnosed with lupus nephritis since Feb 06, and let me tell you it's been a struggle. I have my good and bad days, but mostly they are bad. I've notice that in your forum you was asking about hair loss, and i would say yes to the hair loss. My hair started falling out just around the crown of my head. And then about 8 months after that i started chemotherapy which made it fall out more. It was so hard and frustrating but now it's starting to grow back slow. i hope i was some kind of help and i wish you well.
