Hyperkalemia. High potassium

I have read posts about low potassium levels but does anyone know about high potassium levels and lupus? My husband had a level 8 and had to go to the emergency room. He is fine now but we got a scare. He was diagnosed with lupus a few months after he went into septic shock.
