Memory Problems

Hi Everyone,
I haven't been here in a while and I hope you are all doing well.  I have a question and was wondering if anyone has any input.  I have lupus and have had my share of brain fog and memory problems but more recently I have had a few very weird/kind of scary things happen.  I called my husband at work one day and he said, "Honey you just called me and said the exact same thing".  I do not remember calling him more than once.  Last week I was making a grocery list and reading off a recipe.  I could not for the life of me think what a cucumber what or what it looked like.  It lasted for a few minutes and then I remember what it looked like.  Has anyone had that kind of memory problems?
Thanks,
Joni

My issues are usually around problems finding my words, forgetting things I just heard, remembering to do things and sometimes I can look at an item and can't remember what it is.  You may want to get checked by a neuroligist.

I think Lupus-related memory issues are usually mild...however, when I had my mega-flare last year I had some rather severe cognitive issues.

I could not follow conversations (to the point where I thought people had to be discussing things offline, and leaving me out) and would get totally lost.

I also forgot about and entire month worth of meetings ( was sure I missed them all. Looking back through my notes I'd actually attended them all, and followed up on tasks assigned to me... but had no recollection of attending).

Become paranoid and was convinced people were sabotaging my projects to get me fired.

Other than Lupus, nothing else was found to be wrong.

So, I think its possible Lupus is causing your symptoms, but just to be safe you should discuss this with your PCP, and possible a neurologist.. and maybe have a neuropsych evaluation.
