Not sure if it is Lupus

Hello, recently my mother admitted herself to the ER due to have a rash over body, pain in the legs, knees, wrist, hands shoulder pretty much all over her body.  The doctor tested her for meningitis as well as did a spinal tap of which all blood work came back negative.  The pain is so bad my mother can barely walk and anytime she moves her joints aches with excruciating pain.  The ER doctor gave her meds for the pain and rash of which the rash is slowing going away but the pain in her joints is still there.  She doesn’t have any precondition autoimmune diseases that we are aware of but she does suffer from hypertension, neuropathy in her feet, and carpel tunnel syndrome.  We have no idea what is going on with her??? She doesn’t have the flu although she did have a bladder infection that is being treated with medication...When she went back to her primary doctor she was referred to a rheumatologist for further testing, if anyone have any idea of what this can possible be please assist, we are clueless???

Have they check for Rock Mountain Spotted Tick?  It can cause all of the symptoms you described.  Was she running fever?

Hello, yes my mother had a fever initially but it has since gone down. Currently, she feels very weak and nauseated as well as her hands, wrist, and lower backs are aching now. Yesterday, she regurgitated black stuff but we are not sure if it was blood or the reaction to all the meds plus foods. She is just complaining of feeling extremely weak and nauseated now, I thought it could be the Shingles and not Lyme since we live in Atlanta, Ga; however, I will most definitely look into the above disease. Thanks.

I would consider RMST, Lymes and lupus.  Some of the symptoms sound like it could be fibrmyalgia.  Which many times coninsides w/ other illnesses.

I honestly think lymes could also be in Atlanta.  This is the deep south where we have bugs gallor!

Does being in the sun make her feel bad, does she have a rash that comes up on her face along w/ the joint and muscle pain?  Maybe the day after being in the sun?  All of this is related to lupus.
