Plaquenil... Problems?

I'm just curious if anyone with SLE or Lyme disease induced Lupus has had problems taking hydroxycholoroquine (Plaquenil).

When I tried the drug, I started having severe nerve pain within a week of use, and noticed my veins were largely inflamed.

I'm trying to find out if this due to anything other than allergic reaction, and maybe someone in my situation had the same problem, and knows what route to go.

i also seem to have 'prominent' veins in my legs especially, though not yet what would be called varicose i guess. i think maybe from the hydroxychloroquine. i have been on for 2 years. i have MCTD (SLE included). a resource for answers might be local LUPUS support group or from LFA or from internet research for side effects. good luck
