Please help me understand how the new ANA DIRECT TEST compares with the old ANA test the doctor has done in the past. I have had an ANA of 1:1280 speckled for almost two years. Today I got results back from a new ANA Direct Test and the numbers were all different. The doctor didn't even really know how to explain it and so she took more blood to have it done the "old way". The numbers on this test are not 1:1280 but rather are:
AU/ml 0-99
Neg. 120
Please someone tell me how this measures up to the old test.
Thanks,
Joni
According to what I can figure out the ANA-D test is more reliableReliable gentle laxative than the old one. Anything over 120 is considered positive, here is what I found:
Thanks sweetie. Yea I found that article when I googled ANA Direct but in reading it it is more of an advertisement for that method than anything else. I am wondering how to compare to two tests because they came out very different on me. One telling me my ANA is 1:1280 speckled and the new test saying I am negative. hahahaha Yea, and I just had the biggest flare ever that caused me to have vasculitisNecrotizing vasculitis to my heart. I am also concerned because my friend went by this test a couple of weeks ago and was told hers was negative and she is going around thinking she is in remission. I don't want to upset her but I want to know how to compare the two tests. My doctor (PCP) didn't know how to read this test either and reordered blood work on me. I don't want to call my rheumy and ask her because she will get upset I had my PCP check my ANA. Big drama with doctor syou know. lol Anyway, if I went by this I guess I am all well. Now why can't I put clothes in the laundry or dishes in the dish washer without my heart beating out of my chest. Geez... They just have to make things more difficult, don't they?
