Prof. Garth Nicolson is back answering questions starting 1/10/10

We're pleased to announce that Prof. Garth Nicolson, founder of the Institute for Molecular Medicine in Huntington Beach, CA will be here 1/10 to 1/12, 3 days in total, answering questions from MedHelp members regarding Autoimmune Disorders and the role infections play in chronic illnesses and treatments for these infections.  Beginning 1/8 the forum will be open, accepting a total of 30 questions  for Dr. Nicolson's return 1/10 - 1/12.

Thanks so much for taking time to answer our questions.  You are a blessing to this forum!

In 2008 I was dx w/ mild lupus
ANA 1:2560 (homogeneous)
mouth sores
joint pain w/ swelling
malar rash
sun sensitivity
raynauds / sensitive to cold
to name a few of the many things going on.

My question is, two years ago I also tested positive for Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever.  I was placed on antibiotic for a month, should this have cleared that part up?  Or could the RMSF be a false positive and really be lupus or vice versa.

I also have a chronic sore throat.  I am on my second antibiotic for that.  (yellow puss pockets in the tonsil area)

Could this really be a mycolplasma, etc and if so, what is the expected length of treatment?

I am currently on 400mg/daily Plaquinel, 90 mg of armor thyroid, vit D, vit. B-12 injections and this short term antibiotic.  Plaquinel has helped tremendously in treatment for lupus.
