Question about the titer and other blood work pertaining to lupus?

by katies58, Feb 19, 2009 01:05PM
I am a 22 yr old female with a strong family prevalence of lupus, My greatgrandmother died of liver failure.  My rheumatologist believes that I have lupus but my ANA titer was always borderline positive before.  I have symptoms of joint pain, extreme fatigue, hair loss, Reynauds in my hands and feet, joint stiffness and swelling.. Today my primary care physican gave me my last blood results and my ANA was 1:640 and I had a WBC of 15.0 and my MCH was 37.  I didnt have time to go over these all with my doctor and I still dont see the rheumatologist for another 2 weeks. I have been alot more sick lately in the past couple months and it seems the blood work shows that.    I feel like now I should be in the hospital but I havent gone yet.  I have been sleeping 18 hours a day and have had the worst joint pain ever.  It is the worst in my hips.. I dont know what to do anymore, here is a list of my meds that I take for Asthma, chronic pain/lupus, bipolar disorder
1. Lithium Carbonate -
2. Tramadol - 150 mg per night
3. Mirapex - Maximum daily dose (i believe it is 4.75 mg per day(
4. Neurontin - 1500mg a day - 300mg in the am - 1200mg pm
5. Singular -  one pill per day
6. Zyrtec - one pill per day
7. Flexiril -  as needed in 10mg pills
8. Albuterol - as needed
9. Phenergen - as needed
10. Trazedone - as needed 25-50mg per night
Vitamins - Fish oil, DHA and EPA, Multi Vitamin, Calcium, Niacin vitamin b12,

I would really appreciate help trying to find out whats going on with my blood work.

My Questions:
What do the results mean and what would it mean/what would happen if my ANA continued to rise?
Whats the risk of a Immune System attack?
What would be good questions to ask my Rhuematologist during my next visit? like other tests/treatments?
