My sister which is 52, just informed me she is having trouble with a high ANA level and it keeps rising.  She was tested for Lupus, which came back neg. What is she dealing with here?  She has no idea and the doctor she is see is not helping her.  She is having trouble walking, bruising, she can't swim any longer, long car drives are painfull to her.

What is her ANA titre?  They are several test for Lupus and ANA is only one of them.  You can have a high ANA and still not have Lupus.  ANA is seen in several autoimmune diseases, even healthy people and have a positive ANA.  It takes a long time for a diagnosis.  Do you know what kind of tests her DR has done?
