When do you need to head back to rheumy?

I'm still on the ibuprofen and plaquenil initial treatment.  I am flaring just awful.  What are you supposed to do when this happens?  Do I just have to suffer through it or do I try to move up my August appointment and see if he can up my treatment?  I'm so sore and so tired I can't function.

Yes, if you can't get into the rhemy until Aug. I would certainly try to see your family dr.  They can run some test to see if your vit D level is low or your thyroid function is good.  They might even want to try a steroid shot.  I got "hung-up" in a flare back in Feb.  I got walking pneumonia which caused me to be in an extended flare.  WOW! that steroid shot cranked my tractor!  I know they are bad for you, but I really needed the boost.

Also be aware that if you do have lupus, sun exposure can cause a flare and internal damage.  It makes me have diarrhea along with all the other joint pain, fatigue and skin rashes.
