my sister has had issues for about two years. About two years ago she was having pain and severe fatigue and heart issues. They did blood work and she had a +ana, two months ago high plateletPlatelet associated antibodies Platelet count level, and last month sed rate 62, + c reative protein, + IGG - for the other IG( ) test, rbcRbc count Rbc indices low, ab lymph high, and I have Lupus, Behcets, RA, raynaudsRaynaud's phenomenon, Fibromyalgia, severe migraines and other things as well as our older sister has Lupus.
I mentioned the results to my Rheum. but he really couldnt say but to have her see a rheum. I think Lupus. Now I've given her the recommended dr's to see per she lives 1 hr away from me. But she is holding off.
I dont know what else she could have.. Please help I dont know what to do w/ my sister to let her know it will be O.k. and to know what she has.
Bless your heart for loving your sister so much. She has to make the decision to go to the dr, and only they can give her a accurate dx. You are experienced in these diseases, so you understand how hard it can be to get a dx. The best thing is to keep loving her and encourage her to get help.
First of all, I would like to welcome you to our lupus communtiy. I feel you would be a valuable member of our group since you have been dealing with lupus and many other conditions for such a long time.
I know it is difficult to see someone suffer through something. Just encourage your sister that the doctors are doing what thy can to help dx her and for her to stick with it. There are meds that can help, but the doctors just want to make sure they get things right with the dx.
You and the rest of us are so familiar with the symptoms and labs, and hers definitely are pointing in that direction. I know it took a year and a half to fianlly get a dx. Not all doctors are helpful. One dr. looked at an ANA of 2,560 and said I had fibromyalgia. When I told him I got so much better when I started the Plaquinel, he said I could've took a tickTick removal-tack and got better. I didn't know wat to say. When someone says something stupid, what do you say. I said that is amazing...I could've took a tickTick removal-tack with an ANA of 2,560 and a faceFace pain rash and joints swelling and raynauds and I went on and on...and to think I could've took a tick-tack. He knew I would not be back. But I did get help finally.
Praying for your sister and for you. Your sister needs love and support. This is real depressing for her. Especially because she knows the cost you all have paid with this illness.
I have been to Rhuma, Nuro, and family Physcians and was hospitalized for 14 days with an abnormanly high CPK level and extreme pain in just about every area of my body, every since I have had high WBC count periodically and a low grade fever and pain throughout my body and no one seems to believe me. The outside of my lungs hurt severly most of the time but the x rays are clear .All the Drs wanna push it off on the next DR and not treat my pain. I am about at the end of my rope!! Now they wanna send me to pain management with still no defenitive diagnosis. All of my symtpoms make me lean more toward lupus and I have a very strong family histrory of it. Any one know of Docs that would be more apt to listen of ave suggestions as to my proceeding.....?
