friend just diagnosed w/ stage 1 lupus

My husbands boss/friend has been diagnosed with stage 1 lupus.  his mother died from lupus so it is hereditary.  The doctors said at this point all they can do is give him antibiotics, so my question is, is that all the docs can do or is there  other alternatives.  any input would be greatly appreciated and thanks for reading.  I am deserate for info.  Thanks so much.

I can't answer your qeustions but I hope that when you get answers you will put them on here for us to read.  I never heard of antibiotics for lupus....and didn't know there were stages.  So, now i'm confused.  Let us know what you find out and I hope all works out well for your friend.
