is it genetic?

is lupus genetic?  my grandmother has it, just curious.

The answer is yes.  Let's say if you have lupus, there is a slight risk that your first-degree relatives will also get it (brothers, sisters, parents and children).Surveys have estimated this rish at 10% for your daughter and 2% for your son.  If you have lupus and have an identical twin, the chance goes ranges from 26-70%.  

Now, the chance that you get a different autoimmune is 20-30%.
These are Graves disease, Hashimoto's thyroiditis, rhematoid arthristis and scleroderma.  

My advice to you is to take very good care of yourself and try really hard not to stress over things.  Stress can trigger the autoimmune response.
