How low is your count?  There are some medications that  do cause low platelets.  You can do some research and find out which meds cause low platelets and find out if your dr wants you to continue those particular medications.  If you platelet count remains over 50,000, then you are still at a safe level.  If it is lower than that, your dr would have flagged it and started looking into the meds.  (My daughter has ITP so I am pretty familiar with low platelets.)
