do any of us ever feel like our old self again   i also have hep c scared to death about going for the treatment

Right now that is not even a goal.  

I'm really praying for you.  I know the decision you have is not an easy one.  I have a friend who is stage 4 hep c.  She went on some kind of interferon treatment.  She had a rare side affect after being on it for over a year.  She is now off of the treatment.  But before she got sick, her viral load went to zero.  The are still zero, and she is doing so much better.  Honestly, she almost died.  That is a really tough treatment.  Tough decision.
