waiting test results

I have a 6 year old boy who has extreme joint pain, sensitvity to the sun , really bad butterfly rash,ras  on chest, back, hands and feet (especially when exposed to sun), occasionally dizziness, periods of stomach and intestinal pain and upset. Seems to have flare ups of these symptoms during the summer months (late May to September). His dr. just sent him on Friday for ana test and an other blood test to test for lupus. I'm very scared. I know that lupus is more common in women then in men and that he is very young to be diagnosed with lupus but still when we look at his symptoms we keep coming back to lupus. Does it sound like it could be lupus to you? Has anyone else been diagnosed that young? Has anyone tried the anti-malaria drugs for treatment of the rash? What does being diagnosed with Lupus mean for my little guy in the long run?

please go to lupus.org there is a lot of information there and may be able to help with your questions. My aunt was diagnosed at 15, I know I read on lupus.org the average ages. Reading there really helped me cope with a possible dx of lupus. I was terrified because of my aunt having it and one of my good friends from high school. please check it out and I will be praying for your little boy!
