PS...in the meantime you can try Melatonin for sleep, Valerian Root for sleep/anxiety or Benadryl. None of those combined though :/ Just one at a time. Just do what it takes to get some restorative sleep, even if you have to go to urgent care and say you're not sleeping - perhaps they can give you a script to get you thru til you get to the LLMD. Sleep is a MUST
Sounds very very familiar to me, it's panic attacks, over and over. Now, that said, I have Lyme and Lyme can cause psychiatric issues, like panic attacks. I have had these for almost ten years and I promise you, what you are describing is what mine feel like. I HAVE to have sleep medication and some form of valium and or antidepressant. Terrible anxiety disorder. I was fine until the age of 27, then these anxiety symptoms....and it's so perplexing because you're just minding you're own business, sleeping, and BAM, shock like feeling, I had even a zapping sound at one point during the shock like feeling, heart pounding, hot or cold sweats, nausea, diarrhea sometimes, faint feelings....yep. Treatment for Lyme, if that's what you have, can help, and I must say I started with a shrink and counseling prior to learning of my Lyme diagnosis and the LLMD and the mental health visits are the most important docs I see, still.
sorry, "like I was WEARING a very very tall high-heeled shoe'.
Yeah, I never ever had a muscle cramp like that. My calf was seized up so tight that it was like I was a very very tall high-heeled shoe -- the ball of my foot was on the ground, but no way could I get my heel anywhere closer to the floor than a good 5 inches. Never felt anything like it.
I had feelings of like a nerve being plucked, as in a guitar string (twang)
Jackie, you had charley horses in calf too??? OMG, that and lower back pain were my first symptoms. My docs just looked at me like I was nuts!
Umm, call the doc and ask to be put on the cancellation list so they'll call you if something opens up sooner?
I feel for you -- this must be awful. You could try magnesium supplements, but might want to wait till you see the doc. Magnesium helped me a great deal with muscle twitching and cramping, tho it wasn't as bad as yours, but there was one night I leaped straight up out of bed from a dead sleep with a killer charley horse in my calf. I still remember that.
Take care, let us know how it goes, okay?
