Confused
I was sucessfully treated for eradicating the borreliose in Germany 2002 . I had been infected in 1995. 6 week infusions morning and evening. I know of what everyone goes through, 20 doctors with different insights, treatment plans,etc..If you want the name of the Dr. who treated me tell me!!
Burgdorfer is now 82 years old and has been a lot of places. His wikipedia biography is quite interesting and covers a lot of territory both scientifically and geographically.
It would not seem unusual to me that there is Lyme clinic/study in Augsburg near areas of high level of infection with Lyme. Why build the research center a long way away from where the action is? Germany is fairly woodsy itself.

Id like to add that I am interested in how it came about that willy burgdorf who lives in Butte , Montana is from the general area as Dr Traub???? COINCIDENCE????
I think the Germans should be more familiar than the US, with and how to treat the tick vectored disease borreliose. Especially down around Dr. Traub's old stomping grounds it would not surprise me that his old collegues are connected to the Augsburg clinic.
We in the U.S. read good things about the Augsburg clinic (BCA, yes?), but seldom hear from anyone who has been treated there.
I had Lyme for about 3 years -- I was very ill, but the doctors did not know what it was. One doctor, in desperation, tested me for Lyme, and when it came back positive, she said to me gently that I could not possibly have Lyme! I had had a friend long ago who had Lyme, so I knew it was serious, and I went immediately to a Lyme specialist for treatment.
Have you been tested for infections other than Lyme that are often carried by the same ticks? (I had not only Lyme but also babesiosis, which is similar to malaria. Different medication is required for babesiosis.) If you are still feeling symptoms, perhaps there is another hidden infection not yet identified or fully treated.
After antibiotic treatment for Lyme and babesia, I was tired and worn down as after any major illness, but within a few years was fully recovered and remain that way now.

Jackie , Very close to Augsburg in a little vilage called Noerdlingen. From 1995 till 2002 my health started to deteriorate with all the classic systoms now known to be associated with lyme And in 2002 I tested pos to having it.Ive been through it all! . for years!
