or can it be from the bite from a non-lyme deer tick?

the rashes don't all look alike, sometimes they are where they can't be seen (scalp), and sometimes they don't show up at all (me).

i don't know of any other disease that produced a spreading circular rash, but your doc could say for sure.

My son at around 10 yrs. old had a small circular rash on his leg and we were told it was ringworm. He was never tested or treated for lyme disease. He started having minor issues with his stomach and fatigue shortly after. His problems weren't enough to cause concern or to get checked for lyme. Over time his symptoms became worse and he developed chronic fatigue when he was 14. Ten years after his bite he is in terrible shape. He was diagnosed with chronic lyme disease.

To be on the safe side I would take at least a month of antibiotics if your doctor allows it and as soon as possible. You do not want to be fighting chronic lyme disease the rest of your life.
Go to the IDSA and see what their recommendations are for treating lyme when first bitten.
