The best advise I can give you is to start slowly and listen to your body. I started back by doing circuit machines. Spend only 20 mins exercising two body parts. Then see how your body handles it and adjust accordling. Don't try to get on a routine schedule just take it as it comes to you. You may only exercise once a week for awhile.Your right in staying away from aerobics for awhile. Like yourself I was very active lifted three times a week, ran, and coached HS Football. In four weeks I was sitting in a recliner trying to figure out what was happening to me. I stopped exercising for 8 mos 4 of those months I was not being treated. I struggled to get through practices. After 4-5 mos of ABX's I started to exercise on good days but would pay for it for the next few days. I am now able to exercise 3 times a week but still need  that recooperation time.

Thanks...my ND keeps saying just a couple of muscle groups at a time.  You only had this for a few months.  I suffered for 12 years before they finally decided to check for lyme.  It's been a miserable experience.  I am really looking to get my strength back...The good news is: no more face pain, very few headaches and now know that this is curable.

Have a wonderful day.

I had Lyme since Dec 07, Took seven months to DX. I am in the 9th month of ABX's. It hit like a flu virus, very sudden. I was CDC positive and had an infected deer tick bite. Still have the stiff neck, ringing in ears and slight balance stuff. All in all much better. Obviously you are a strong person to have dealt with this for 12 years. You may want to purchase some dumbbells you can get a complete workout at home. Presses, lunge's, curls, kickbacks etc... Glade to hear your starting back.

I was a serious exerciser prior to this.  It was hard for me to adjust to this change in my life.  I still exercise but at a much lower level than before.  I find that the more I do, the worse I am.
