Borrelia Miyamotoi
Here is a year old health alert that I just came across regarding a variation of Borrelia that has been found in several places in the U.S. It is carried by the same ticks that carry Lyme Disease, produces a rash in less than 10% of cases, and shows up negative on Lyme Disease testing. There are no commercial tests available.
It is possible that some people diagnosed with Chronic Lyme or who have Lyme-like symptoms but can't get diagnosed with Lyme have this variation of Borreliosis. Usually, it causes a relapsing fever.
It is found mostly along the Atlantic flyways, but the article mentions TN and CA as well. It can be passed to the next generation of ticks so larva can be born infected.
