I also notice some jaw pain that came on suddenly and I felt like I couldn't even talk or chew. It lasted for a about 2 days in a severe state and has since gone away almost completely. The jaw pain was a completely new symptom for me but from what I hear, you can have symptoms like jaw pain one day and the next its gone. But yes, I definitely have read of many people who have jaw pain w/ Lyme.
i will try! thank you. I have an appliance from my dentist. I have been a grinder for the last 7 years. I go threw those appliances every 2 years. They are suppose to be the strongest ones out there.
I find my jaw stiffens and the pain also effects my ear but for me it is being caused by my recent Lyme dx and it's stress. I didn't have it until about 3-5 days after dx. I use a bite splint when needed.
My Daughter is a dentist and recommends the less expensive ones you can buy in your local drug store much less of a cost as the custom made ones and just as effective. It is good to wear it at night and if your real bad during the day also, If it is stress you should see a improvement within the first week. Can't hurt to give it a try!
Another trick I do is chew a lot of gum if I catch it early that can stop it to.. I get where I can't hardly open my mouth at times. Have you tried Motrin? It should help with the pain and swelling.
