Just Waiting

Hey the nurse called and left a message friday that they finally got my results! But however she said they dont know how  to read it and wants to send them to a infectious disease doctor wich is fine with me and i'm happy they admitted they had no clue how to read it instead of just bs'ing me! But anywho is it really that hard to read if nothing is wrong with my blood? IShe told me to call her today but all i got were the emergency lines so i'll just have to wait till monday to get a hold of her and hopefully get a copy.  Just a little worried about the results ......just worried and waiting and felt like typing

I thought I posted a reply, but maybe it's stuck in the system ... to repeat:  I'd suggest you get a copy of all your test results for your own file and to be able to copy to take to other MDs if the need arises.  I find that if I wait too long and ask for copies, they either aren't done, or the wrong ones are copied [stuff I already have] etc., and since they won't let ME go through the file to see what's there that I don't have, I have to rely on the office staff, who mostly don't give a rat's hindquarters whether I get what I asked for.  (It's not like anything important -- like my health -- depends on it or anything -- /sarc.)

And, because the tests are complex and subject to interpretation, the ID doc they want to send you to may read it quite differently from an LLMD.

Don't worry if you can help it, you're making progress, and that's all one can do.  Hang in there.

I agree with the above, and it is worth re-stating, that you'll want the full Igenex report once your doctor releases it.  Not all doctors agree upon how to interpret the Western blot.  Some will look at the test alone, others will also factor in your history and symptoms.  Make sure in the end to get your own copy in case you want or need a second opinion on the interpretation.
