... and PS
something I should have said above: if you search online for something like
---- georgia lyme disease ----
you will get quite a few good links to a Georgia Lyme disease association and other helpful places with local data.
Like all docs, Lyme docs are not all created equal, and some are far better than others -- snooping around websites like the one for the Georgia Lyme Disease Association can often find good recommendations for a good doc near you.
I don't recall anyone posting here in recent memory who was in Georgia, but you can do a search for something like
-- Georgia lyme --
in the search box in the far right upper corner of this screen. You could even narrow the search by putting in a city name like
-- Savannah Georgia lyme --
or whatever applies. Best wishes to you and yours -- let us know if we can help further.
You can go to
-- ILADS [dot] org --
and click on the 'physician referral' button, in addition to any personal recommendations you may receive here.
ILADS is the main voluntary group for MDs who treat Lyme and its co-infections in a more 'progressive' manner ... as in something more than a couple weeks of doxycycline regardless of symptoms and test results.
Let us know how we can help -- we've all been where you are. You go!
