My fatigue got much worse during treatment than it ever was before. There was not a lot I could do about it, and the lack of control was a huge source of frustration.
(Note that my use of the past-tense is a bit optimistic as I still encounter fatigue, but I seem/hope to be through the worst of it!)
Somedays I'd wake up *exhausted* and it'd feel like heavy weights were strapped to my limbs. The act of yawning was painful and tiring itself. No good intentions or positive outlook could get me past the state of complete exhaustion. I just had to use sick days and rest and stay as comfortable as possible.
I think that one needs to be careful in using stimulants with this type of fatigue. I think (lie gorbs says above) that it is the body's way of saying it needs the rest to get you well. I do resort to some coffee in the AM, but stay away from anything more drastic than that. Do make sure it's not a medication reaction, though in my non-medical opinion it sounds Herxish. Do you take your meds more than once a day? I try to take the brunt of my meds at night, in hopes that I'll sleep through the worst of it.
Gorbybelle is right, and I'd only add that you might think about calling/faxing/emailing your MD's office with a short description of your symptoms so he/she can determine
1-- if you are having an allergic reaction to the medications or
2-- if it's die-off from the antibiotics (called a 'Herx reaction') which can make you feel awful too.
Sometimes the dr will tell you to stop or lower the dosage, but that's a call for the dr to make.
Hang in there. Let us know how you do.
Your body is having to cope with a lot right now - I believe the exhaustion is your body 'talking' to you - I would say the best way to handle this would be to eat as healthily as you can - and sleep as much as you can - you can't rush this process - just support your body.
