Lyme Dz vs: MS

Lyme Dz vs: MS

My son in law is presenting with symptoms that has not definitively been diagnosed but both mimic either Lyme Dz. or MS.  He will see his Neurologist on Tuesday.  In the meantime he is going to have blood work done for Lyme Dz.  My question is can people with Lyme Dz. also have a common problem with MS of Neurogenic Bladder?

Absolutely.  I have had Lyme Disease for 20 years and I have a neurogenic bladder.
My symptoms are largely neuro and my doctor suspected MS as well.  You can have lesions on your brain with Lyme as well.

The bad thing is that your son in law is going to be tested for Lyme disease with a test that is extremely inaccurate.  He needs to seek a Lyme disease specialist because neurologists, endocrinologists, infectuous disease doctors... none of them will be able to treat your son in law.  In fact.. after only a few weeks of antibiotics.. they will outright refuse.

Does he live in a lyme endemic state?

MS and lyme disease are often misdiagnosed as they can cause the same symptoms.  Usually it's the people with lyme who are diagnosed as having MS.

The same with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome... many CFS patients are often diagnosed with lyme disease or MS.

PlateletGal (not trying to add to the confusion ! ; ^ )   )
