My daughter was diagnosed with Stage 1 Lymes today

I took my daghter to the doctor today because when I was giving her a bath today I noticed a sore under her arm.  It kinda looked like a zit with a ring around it.  When we got to the the doctor, he said that he was pretty sure it was a tick bite with Lymes Disease.  He said that it kinda concerned him because my daughter has a lot of health issues.  She also has a sinus infection so he gave her Amoxicillin and said it would take care of both.  Any info would be great.  Thanks.

Very True JackieCali. PICTURES!!!! great evidence for the future (if future treatment is required) thats one thing i didn't do was take a picture of my rash.. my rash also appeared a second time, but only larger. Do you think i was smart enough to take the pic that time??? NOPE, of course not... but i also blame some of my foolishness on lack of education. My mother and father who where born in the fifties, never even heard of the disease before....

I truely believe that individuals who do develope an EM rash is blessed (doesn't that sound odd???). So many people never develope an EM and therefore go through a long debilitating journey of undiagnosed symptoms.

Hope your daughter is doing well. I'll keep her in my prayers

If it's not too late, take a color photo of the rash/bit site!  It never hurts to have evidence when it comes to doctors who blow you off.

You may want to do some research at lymenet dot org.  Usually the treatment is a month or more if diagnosed at the time of the bite.  I would post this same topic at the site mentioned and get more answers.  Chronic lyme is not a good thing at all.

Well.... I would have him do a western blot to confirm lyme and I would also do some reading on all the different lab tests that can be run on co-infections. I would also look for a lyme literate doc that specializes in children.

Get on line and read as much as you can on Lyme....
