Ordered From Igenex

Hi All! I learned how much llmds really are soooo i decided to go another route first. I just ordered and Testing kit from igenex and am awaiting to recieve it.  So i figure i'm going to have to pay for it anyways regardless if i see the LLMD cause neither accpets insurance so i figure it would be less costly if i just did it myself ( have my new pcp sign off on it) and see what the results say. Im going to order either the 6050 or 5010 panel i belive they are. My question is i read and hear how accurate igenex is sooo im thinkin if it comes back negative then i dont have to even bother with a LLMD? so really my question is how accurate is Igenex?

I tend to agree with wonko.   There's no ONE test that determines LYME .  it depends on the amont of time, what you've taken, and co-infections.  I know in our office soemtimes they give three tests before they finally determine the LYME bacteria is present.   There's some more information on the webiste.  www.Lymetesting.com that you might find helpful.

It's confusing for sure.

Lyme disease is a clinical diagnosis, so you really can't rule it in or out by a blood test that you interpret.  You need a good doctor to properly diagnose and treat any condition, Lyme included!

Lyme disease is caused by a specific bacteria called Borrelia burgdorferi.  Babesosis, Bartonella, and other tick borne diseases are caused by other agents.  That is why separate tests are used.

Igenex has an easy-to-find website.  The site has a lot of info regarding Lyme testing, the Igenex lab history, the lab licensing, and more.  There is also contact info, you could try contacting them directly with your questions and concerns.

Okay i just read this statement from JAckie:  Were you tested for tickborne illnesses other than Lyme disease, like babesiosis, bartonella, ehrlichiosis and some others.

I thought if i got tested for lyme disease that means i get tested for all the above? Like do i seriously have to test for every single thing that comes along with Lyme? Shouldnt that just be like one test the LYME TEST lol not that im mad ok yeah a little bit cause this is just getting to be more and more money and i cant even work   if im thinking totally wrong please correct me and i hope i get corrected
