I was positive with the exact same results a month apart from the other for two separate labs -- LabCorp and Quest...
I think that they were accurate for me, especially since the results from both labs were identical.
My tests were all negative through standard labs. Not one single band showed up on the standard lab WB. The llmd I saw was only interested in the Igenex IgM so I only had that part drawn. It showed 30+, 39 and 41 were IND. He said these results were "very significant" especially considering I had been on antibiotics.
It's tough to cover all possibilities with polls!
I picked "Neg regular lab, Pos IgeneX." I had two ELISA screens and a lumbar puncture that were all negative. I had only one Western Blot, and it was through Igenex. The results were negative by CDC (center for disease control) standards, but I was IgG positive through Igenex standards with 2 bands. I was both CDC and Igenex negative on the IgM portion of the test.
So it is not only the lab, but which set of standards you trust. CDC requires 5 IgG bands to be IgG positive and 2 IgM bands to be IgM positive. I Igenex requires only 2 bands for both parts of the test.
Since I'm CDC negative, I don't "count," my case is not reported for statistics, and I also need to see an LLMD, as a regular physician wouldn't treat me.
my result was neg. too - nevertheless I am keeping my LLMD appointment.
I just got a reg lab done and it just came back Neg. I am contemplating doing the IgeneX. Everything has been ruled out so I'm still considering Lyme as the culprit!! I am very discouraged by my NEG results!
