Steroids
Just posting this as it may help someone else...
I was recently rear ended by a truck. I have 6 dislocated discs and brain swelling. Everyone from the hospital to the orthopedic doctor was trying to push steroids on me. I had a very bad reaction to steroids while having Lyme and refused to take them. Of course everyone thought I was nuts.
Nothing is a real emergency, just super painful, so my LLMD agreed with me not to take them. If there had been an emergency, I would have taken them if I was closely monitored by a doctor.
Just saying, don't think you must follow non Lyme literate docs in certain situations. We are not nuts!

I have neurally mediated hypotension too, flunked the tilt table test, but was given atenelol which works great and it did not affect my lyme.

Thinking of you too mojo! So sorry that you are in so much pain and very impressed with your strength in denying steroid treatment! You are such an inspiration!
In other kind of related news, I reread Burrascano's ATILD. Remember when I was questioning whether I should take the Florinef that my cardiologist ordered for low blood pressure bc the pharmacy rules it as a steroid? In ATILD Burrascano says that Florinef plus potassium is fine to use for supportive therapy in neurally mediated hypotension. Since he is really against steroid therapy in Lyme patients, I'm guessing Florinef must be in some weird classification that makes it an acception to the rule. I guess we'll find out after my upcoming tilt table test;)
