Tragedy with Lyme Disease

This isn't so much a question, as to a story, a friend of a friend that has lyme disease.  She lives in Germany.  It was diagnosed, as far as I'm told she did have lyme disease.  Yet the doctors over there, don't know, or won't treat her effectively.  

She is now partially blind, and partially deaf, they told her it was in her head when she started going blind.  She can't hardly type on the computer anymore, she used to be active in other forums.  She is not coherent in her speech, people have a hard time understanding her.  She has to go 200 miles to get any sort of help.  I want to help this woman, I don't know what I could do.  I had to write this.  In this day and age, for something like this to happen.  My heart goes out to her, I wish I could do something.  This is such a tragedy.   I know people suffer from this disease, it seems like she was left out, and her cries for help went ignored.  I just had to write this to let you know all, we could have it worse, someone else does. There are people from every country in Europe: for sure someone will be able to help that poor woman, to direct her to a Lyme specialist. There is a great LLMD in Switzerland, can't remember his name though.
