Waiting on results. Please help

2 years ago I had a bout of fatigue decreased sensation on entire right side. I had a brain mri, spine mri and an emg. All were normal. These symptoms went away but resurfaced about 3 months ago. I had another mri done along with a ton of blood tests one of which was for Lyme disease. Along with this decrease in sensation I've been having random prickly pains, and a few brief electric shock like pains, occasional stabbing pains in temple, head pressure...
Can anyone tell me if it's possible/common for lyme disease to mainly only affect one side of the body? Also would lyme disease symptoms go away for a long time and then come back?

What were you misdiagnosed with?

I was misdiagnosed for 25 years so yes my symptoms kept coming back until they figured out that I had lyme. I am still treating but many get better like our dear Jackie.

Welcome to MedHelp Lyme -- sorry you have reason to come visit, but it's good to think through the possibilities.  When your test results are back, be sure your doc gives you a *full* set of the results, and not just a cover page/summary -- different docs read results in different ways, so having the full test papers is good.

Different docs use different tests, and that can change how a doc diagnoses and treats the patient ... If you would like to share the results with us, we would be glad to share with you our understandings, if you like.  (For example, some tests say 'all clear' but may overlook a Lyme-related infection just because the tests are structured differently.)

Take care, and fingers crossed for you!

They never tested me for it when this happened 2 years ago so I've never had a treatment for it.

My lyme is only or mainly on the left side. Yes, lyme could go and come back based on the amount of meds you first took and how strong your immune is.
