cystitis

Hi 'All' - I have aquired 'cystitis' now - which I find odd as I have just finishes [10 days ago] one month of abx. - high dose too - I was wondering if anyone had any opinions/experience with this.

I find it hard to see how I can have bacteria in my bladder so soon after all the abx. - is it poss. it could be connected to 'die-off/detox' ?

Could it be yeast from taking the abx?

I know this is gross - but doc. said there is 'pus' in my urine - that is bacteria rather than yeast isn't it ? Maybe there is a link between too much yeast enabling the bacteria to flourish - or something!!!!!???

? yeast like skarey said.  The other thing is that interstitial cystitis is common in lyme.  You can google this and read on it if you like.  Not saying you have this though.  I don't think there is pus with IC though.

hi, I just did a quick google! of IC and I am pretty sure you are right in that there is no 'pus' - it is more to do with pain and very frequent need to pass urine.

Hopefully the 5 days of abx. I have will clear it up - just find it hard to grasp that after so many abx. of late, that I have a bacterial infection.

Different bacteria need different abx to wipe them out ... maybe that's part of it.

I spoke to my sis. today - told her I have 'cystitis' and straight away she said that it was prob. caused by abx. - she is a nurse - she said many people seem to get cystitis after taking abx.!  - so that was interesting - has anyone else noticed this after stopping abx.?
