leg pain

leg pain

Hello...seen Gorby's question about pain, guess mine is similar.  I have been having a type of pain in my left leg, where sometimes I can't walk.  It goes away on its own, however it may take a few hours, seems to happen when I am standing and can't take a step, have to wait for the pain to subside.  Has anyone had this type of pain before?  Very scary...only had it happen a few times...it makes me literally cry and worry that it won't subside.
Thanks again

I have all kinds of leg pain.  No real pattern.  It can last for days on end.

where in your leg?  thigh?  calf?

stabbing, burning, aching?

shin, calf?

The most pain is in my thigh.... it's not a burning pain.  I would describe it like a stabbing pain...I have had it only a few times now.  I come to a dead stop and have to wait for it to subside or just limp along..
Thanks for your quick responses

Ouch!

I've been very lucky (knocking on wood) that I have had not big pain like you do, but little bits that come and go in various places.

Perhaps someone else here can comment on similar experience.

Does your dr have anything to say about it?  Sorry I don't have any advice to give.

do you get pain in your left buttock?  if so the pain in your thigh could be from 'sciatic' nerve - of course also some of our pains are so random that there doesn't seem to be any connection/rhyme or reason - my rib pain has got much better [touch wood] it's still there but hardly noticable.

the thigh pain that I get on/off is down the outter-side mostly - it doesn't sound quite so intense as the pain you experience.

during a massage I was told that - my buttock muscles [gluteous maximus - I think!!] - were very tight - ie;when I am standing I sort of clench my buttock muscles - when this lady pushed her elbows on my buttock area -it hurt !

I hadn't realised untill then that I do stand with these muscles sort of clenched - as I am sure you know - one tense muscle leads to the connected ones becoming stressed/tense -

a lot of my pain is muscular - almost like my muscles have forgotten how to relax!

I have very even leg pain on both sides that is worse in the ankles/knees but can also be on the bottom of my feet and in the shins.  It is at its worst in the morning, and it hurts to walk then.  I wobble/stumble a lot at first.  I think this is likely from Bartonella, as I've read others blame that co-infection for this sort of leg pain.

I also on/off get the "legs of lead" feeling, where it really feels as though I'm wearing weights or that my legs were dipped in concrete.  I also sometimes get shooting pains down my legs, or it can feel like cold water is running down my legs.

I have had the 'legs of lead' feeling too - very wierd!  - the worst episode was whilst taking 'doxy'.

have read that hormonal imbalance - low oestrogen - can cause pain in the bottom of the feet - lyme does mess with hormones
