Hi 'everyone' - I have been having awful back/rib pain the last 2/3 days - keeping me awake -
I am hoping to talk to LLMD. later today - I haven't taken my amox. so far today and the back/rib pain is easing already!
getting back to the 'amox.' - I have read that if a 'herx' gets too much it is o.k. to lower the dose for a while - couple of days I guess - I will let you know what LLMD. says - if I get to speak to him today.
Ask him/her about the floaters, and also consider seeing an ophthalmologist (MD who does eyes). I've had problems with my eyes too, and although my ophth says they are fine, it's good to hear that from him. He btw takes Lyme very seriously, so I'm lucky there, but even if he didn't, if there was something amiss when he peeked into my eyes with the look-y device, I would think he would react if he saw anything going on.
Don't be afraid to call back to your dr again if you don't hear: squeaky wheel gets oiled.
I also get floaters but they are dark spots. I, like Jackie, went to the opth. to get the yep 20/20 vision ok, just lyme side affects. It's nice to finally know what it was. So I would also suggest seeing the eye dr if you are worried. Hang in there with those herx
reaction. My Id dr said the longer you can hang in there on the antibiotic the more lyme you are killing off. I thought I was going to DIE during that time it lasted 24 hours for me. As i was able to return to work (tail dragging) the next day after a day in bed and fluids (coke, water, jello water, chicken broth) I thought the more fluids going through the more lyme leaving :-)
