Sorry if this is to long. I am a 26 year old male. My symptoms started 2 years ago on my 24th b day. It started with swollenSwollen glands lymph nodeLymph node biopsy Swollen glands Swollen lymph nodes in the groin Swollen lymph nodes under arm under chinChin augmentation Chin augmentation - series. Then my upper very back tooth started hurting for a week. So that caused me to get it pulled. Since then i still have the swollenSwollen glands lymph but all these other symptoms started happening to me. I started getting chest pain, I fainted, which both caused an ER visit that they dismissed as anxiety or gerd. Then it felt like my skin was more sensitive to my heater than ever. ALso i started to notice in the winter it feels like my skin is more sensitive to the sunActinic keratosis Fontanelles - sunken Liver spots Sun protection Sunburn Sunburn first aid Sunken fontanelles (superior view) than in the summerSummers eve anti-itch time. Then my body started getting twitches ALL OVER and my brain felt like i was gonna get a stroke or some electric shock feeling. I talked to my mom who told me to ask my doctor about lyme disease cause i always go camping and take my boat out. Well before all my symptoms i took my boat to lopez lake in CA which is infested with dears all over the place on the campsites, i mean they try to walk up to u cause to many people feed them. I dont remember getting bit at all by a tick and no rash. but still my mom told me to ask. I asked and he orderd a blood test which came back possitve for lyme. Prescribed me antibiotics but symptoms still there. I went back and the doc and he orderd another blood test, i think it was the same test and that one came back neg. So i gave up on that. Now my right tonsil been feeling sore for a month and it comes and goes during the day. Also i noticed now whenever i go on a elavator and get off it feels like im still on it like the ground is moving, never felt that. Now i got ct scans of my head 2 times with contrast and without. Also got cbc test done and ultra sound of liver and kidney. All they say normal. I am worried about everything on what i could have. As iam only 26 years old with 2 boys thats wants to live long. What is the chances of having lyme even if it came possitive then neg. Cause i had blood test 2 check for cancer and ct scans and nothing. I am wondering if i have some disorder thats hasn't been found in me. Any input would help
Hi, there is no need to apologise for your long post - it is important to try to explain your symptoms/history etc; - there are many folks here with a diagnosis of lyme disease who can offer you advice or point you in the right direction to hopefully get some answers etc; - blood tests for lyme are unreliable - many folks are diagnosed on symptoms and any history of tick-bites and/or rashes - the circular 'bulls-eye' rash being the most 'obvious' tick-bite rash - but ticks can carry other bacteria.
Some folks - diagnosed with lyme - never see a tick or any kind of rash.
My advice to you would be to find a doctor who is knowledgeable about lyme disease - these docs. are known as LLMD's. [lyme literate medical docs.]
The treatment you were given - 2 weeks of antibiotics - is not enough to treat a lyme infection. - I would think atleast one month of 'high dose' antibiotics would be the minimum treatment.
I am not medically qualified in any way - I do have a 'lyme' diagnosis - and so have experience of trying to find an answer to my own health issues - which thankfully led me to an LLMD.
Your symptoms don't sound like 'typical' lyme symptoms but then again lyme symptoms are not 'straight foward' - lyme can effect any part of the body in different ways.
The fact that you did have a 'positive' test for lyme and you have/do spend time around deer - and all the tests you have had have come back normal - other than the lyme test - makes me think an appointment with an LLMD. is a good idea.
One of the possible symptoms of lyme is 'anxiety' - which of course is made worse when we feel unwell but have no diagnosis.
keep us posted - post as much as you need to - gorbs x
I think you should find a LLMD ASAP. I found my doc at www.turnthecorner.org and he has me on a ton of antibiotics and supplements. I have been treated for Lyme for over 2 months and not a lot of relief. Lyme is crazy, symptoms come and go and are weird. I have had some of your symptoms too.
I do not beleive that 2 weeks of antibiotics would kill it all. The cycle for the bateria is 30 days, a rule of thumb for Lyme is to treat until you are 2 months symptoms free.
Also I belong to a Lyme support group at www.mdjunction.com my screen name there is Tennesseemom7. You can contact the group leaders on there and they have a list of LLMD's for you.
