There is a new law in the state of Va (and they are hoping to pass in other states) that any Lyme test that you test negative for, the doctor must tell you that you could still be positive for Lyme which means mainstream tests are mostly worthless and get to an LLMD who can test you by IgeneX labs. Your symptoms could be from Lyme as Rico said.
Lyme Disease tests can indeed be false negative. Unfortunately, doctors tend to think they're terrific. It's a big problem, resulting in many people with Lyme going undiagnosed.
Migrating joint or muscle pain are a hallmark of Lyme Disease. But they can also be caused by Bartonella. You might get tested for that, too, although those tests can also be false negative.
Welcome to MedHelp --
Sorry to hear how you have been feeling. Do you have copies of the tests you had for Lyme? If so, would you post here what you were tested for and what the results are? That would give us some data to work with.
Lyme tests are far from perfect, but they can give helpful clues on how to follow up. We look forward to hearing from you.
I also have migrating pain, but just in my left leg. I have a spot on my shin that when it is in the painful stage, it feels like I got shot with a gun (although I can only imagine what that feels like). At other times the pain will be in my thigh, a larger area, my knee cap, or my hip and pelvis. I have had a cat scan, ultra sound, and have been tested for Lyme disease. Nothing was found, all was normal. At times the pain has been so bad, I cannot sleep more than an hour in a stretch, and then need to move around. Heat using heating pad, seems to help some. I feel the pain is connected with my nervous system and is not related to muscle pain caused by physical activity or joint pain caused by arthritis.
