pain in ears

Hey everyone,
  I know this question has been posted before,but I'm having problems. Has anyone had alot of pain in there ears? Mine hurts almost everyday and it pops. Sometimes I get a buzzing or muffled noise in them. I'm getting over the flu now. Has anyone else been getting sick alot? There's one new symptom that I have and when I blow my nose,I get dizzy. I have not had that before..it's kinda scary because I have to stop what I'm doing and sit down or it feels like I'm gonna fall and everything I see is moving in circles. I can relate to everything you wrote about.

Last spring, I was getting really bad ear pain, esp. in my right ear.  I mean stabbing pain, couldn't stand it!  I've been prone to ear infections my whole life.  My doctor checked my ears twice for infection, but they were clear.  I was starting neurontin at that time (this was before my Lyme diagnosis), and it either worked or the ear pain subsided, not sure which.  I started Lyme treatment in Dec, and haven't had the awful ear pain since last spring.  Weird, eh?

I've gotten two colds since I started Lyme treatment in Dec.  That is a lot for me, I usually hardly ever get sick.  No flu though, so I'll count myself still lucky.

I get both dizzy spells (disoriented) and vertigo (room spinning).  When you say that what you see is moving in circles, I think that sounds like vertigo.  Though I haven't noticed nose-blowing to be a trigger, moving my head suddenly or bending my neck both are.

You should have your ears looked at if you can, but between Lyme and flu, you probably have a lot of congestion which could be at least part of your ear pain.  Whatever it is, I hope it gets better soon.
