question about a test

Hey everyone,I have a question about a blood test. Does anyone know what  ANA Screen test is? Well,I got my results back and it says: ANA Screen-POSITIVE,ANA Pattern-Homogenous and they both have "A" under where it says Flag. Does anyone know what it means? And it also says ANA Titer-1:80. I'm waiting for my doctor to write me back. Hes on vacation until next month. Any input is appreciated,thank you!!

anti nuclear antibdy, when immune system is off I thought it meant autoimmune problem.Both my children 8weeks later neg. ANA positive could be for arthritis,lupus,inflamation (inflammation) process, Many of us will test positive for ANA but not to worry wait till Dr comes back. Look up ANA Positive if your being tested for autoimmune then your Dr will tell you.which one and do more testing.

Thank you for the response. I looked at the result again and it says anti-DS DNA Ab-neg(1:10 dil) and I looked it up and it was talking about lupus(SLE). They had to test for lupus. Well,I had my bone scan done 4-5 months ago and they found arthritis in 4 places. I had called the nurse tonight to see what it meant and she said it sounds like I have rheumatoid arthritis and the next step would to see a Rheumatologist. She said I could call his nurse tomorrow to find out more. I will keep everyone posted. Thank you again!!:)

  Well,I talked to the nurses today(they called me 3 times today)and they said for me to see a Rheumatologist. I have an appointment next thursday at 4:10. They said I do have it and they also said that my liver enzymes are a little elevated,but nothing to worry about. I will talk to you all later!! :)
