what do I do

Last night while watching tv i suddenly got a horrable sence of preasure directly in my spine and a burning pain that spread outward on either side of this preasure,I jumped and sat up and said to my husband look at my back whats there get it out I was in alot of pain and was scared, he looked at my back and told me not to move , he got some dish soap and droped a drop on the spot and it began to hurt even worse, he told me it was a tick he had seen it 2 nights before but thought is was a small mole that he just hadn't noticed but upon dropping the dish soap  on "the mole" he saw it move and knew what it was , he got some tweezers and removed the tick and cleaned the area off , but now I am scared the area is very tender and since I know it was aparently feeding on my spine for at least 2 -3 days I am worried it felt like something was litterly boring into my spine and the preasure was imence it brought tears to my eyes . can you enlighten me about any of this or what I should do next if anything???? he said he got the entire tick out

Sorry to hear about this, but good thing your hubby is good with the tweezers!

I'd go to the MD right away and see about getting a course of antibiotics.  The sooner Lyme is caught, the easier it is to cure and the less misery too.  If the dr won't agree, find another doctor, and do so very soon.

I got that stabbing pain from a dog tick that gave me Lyme ... I think the tick hit a nerve.  It woke me up in the middle of the night, but it stopped and I didnt' find the tick burrowed in till much later, buried on the back of my leg where I couldn't see it.  So in one way, you're lucky that you got the pain, and you are definitely lucky to have your husband there.

If you still have the tick, tape it to a piece of paper and take it with you in case the MD wants to see it.  They seem to like show and tell.  

But don't worry too much!  Just take action.  You are doing the right things.

No worries about show and tell ... I never saw the first tick that bit me, and many people don't.  I had no tick, no rash, just a lot of symptoms, and that's not uncommon.

But tomorrow, do your best to get some antibiotics.  If you can see an MD who specializes in Lyme and other tick diseases, so much the better, but if if you can at least get some abx from some MD, it will buy you a little time.  Note however that nonLLMDs often think 2 weeks of abx is enough, but LLMDs usually prescribe for longer.  If you need help finding an LLMD, let us know and we can list some websites to go to for referral.
